Brussel Sprouts are a christmas favourite, however you would be amazed at how much nicer they taste when grown from seed.
 
When to sow Brussel Sprouts:  Mar to Apr
When to Harvest Brussel Sprouts: Oct to Jan
 
How to grow Brussel Sprouts:
 
Sow in small pots in Feb or Mar, and transplant late Mar or Apr to their final position.  Leave approximatly 2ft between plants for them to grow.  Protect from birds using a garden netting and from slugs.
 
Mulch to avoid the soil from drying out, and occasionally feed using a liquid fertiliser.
 
How to harvest Brussel Sprouts:
 
Pull sprouts from the lowest point of the plant when they are the correct size.  Regular pulling will help to other sprouts develope.  It is known that a frost on the plant can also improve the taste making the sweeter.
