Peppers are fairly straight forward to grow, and can be treated in a similar way to growing tomatoes. They can be grown outside in a sunny sheltered area, however you will get better results from growing indoors on a sunny window sill or in a conservatory.
When to Sow Peppers: Feb onwards (temp needs to maintained at 15 degrees)
When to Harvest Peppers: July onwards
How to grow peppers:
Sow in either modules or small pots (3 inches), untill seedlings develope, pot up as required untill they are in there final position (if keeping them in pots). The final posts should be at least 9 inches wide and deep.
If planting outside allow spaces of 18inches between plants.
Plants may require support so stake them when they are around 18 - 20 inches tall.
Water regularly, you can also water using a tomato fertilizer.
How to harvest peppers:
Pick the fruit when it is mature, the fruit will first be green and can be picked at this stage, if you want it to turn red then leave the fruit on the plant, however this may slow growth of other peppers on the plant and will reduce crop size.
